myra anderson - in search of figurative expressionism ' another red umbrella' - and artist linda christensen . . .
another red umbrella by myra anderson
This is a work in progress. I smoothed the grass and sky with a damp paper towel and I painted the figure and the umbrella with my fingers. Only when I began to paint the hair did I pick up a brush.

This painting by Linda Christensen is truly expressive! Figurative expressionism is colorful and textural. The expressionist painter merely 'looks at the figure' and then turns their attention to the canvas.
Lovely piece...I often paint with my fingers too...but this is very inspiring to do this way more often :) ♥ Conny http://piaromsartjournaling.blogspot.de

bonjour,
Je suis impressionnée... Peindre avec vos doigts apporte une grande énergie dans votre peinture.
J'aime beaucoup cette femme au parapluie rouge...

You did a wonderful job with painting with your fingers and I like the effect of using a brush for the hair. Why did you do that?
What a lovely expressionistic piece Myra. I like to use fingers too. It's great when you can actually see fingerprints in the paint.
I can't wait to see her finished. :) I follow Linda's work, also. She's amazing.
Hope everything's okay, Myra. Haven't seen you around lately, so I thought I'd come and check on you. <3
