une fleur dans le garden . . .

Okay so working a series is like baking a cake - you must have all of the right ingredients.  So I'm working with my grand ladies . . . I'm working with various furniture pieces . . . I'm having fun with my french titles - and so I think - wouldn't it be great if she wore a wonderful big hat?  I sketch . . . I like . . . I want to call this 'the mad hatter' but no - let's avoid the obvious.  'A flower in the garden'?  Maybe - for now - and too late I think 'ahhhh - not a furniture piece - how about a hat box or a bird cage or a large flower vase made like a cup of coffee!!?!'  Okay - the next one.

I love the way the really big hat and the small chair in the distance adds such an interesting perspective here! Pretty flowers too! I think flowers are hard to paint and draw.
