if you recall, i rather boasted in my last post about how i was going to reinterpret - if you will - this degas. well my dear, here is as far as my limited skills could take me. it was a fun painting - but for now - i am done - or rather - done for . . .
oh Helen - i don't care how simple a degas sketch or painting looks - it's very hard for me to copy my beloved degas.
i got a bright idea! my idea is to paint modern day women in dresses and heels using degas' colors and composition. i got so excited about this idea that my pulse began to race - or maybe it was . . .

what a wonderful painting and I hope he doesn't mind, but yours is way better, especially love the bows
Beautiful painting - the red dresses are fabulous...
Chocolate salad... can't be anything wrong with that and certainly looks beautiful! Love the ballerina composition/crop too.
I rather like your version of Degas's dancers. Very lively painting and those long exciting gloves make a nice change from the original thing. Keep eating those salads,,,the chocolate one looks sooo good! I wish a fabulous Year 2015, Hugs
Happy New Year! Wait! Not yet!!!
I think you created a beautiful painting inspired by Degas. The colors are gorgeous and there is a fantastic energy about this piece.
A wonderful interpretation of a beautiful classic ~ love it! And your chocolate creation looks and sounds, as you said, "soooo good!"
