Lisa, Lee, Janettmarie, Julie, Katherine, Polly, Sharon, Hilda, Martine, Barbara, Wanda, Pia and all of the other artists could not believe the things that we had seen and heard. It was the final day of a three day conference with the impressionist painters Degas, Monet, Renoir, Morisot and Cassatt.

'So . . .' said Mr. Renoir. 'Over the coming year we will be visiting some of you, learning from you and applying some of your techniques to our art.'
'On this last morning of the conference is there one final question?' he asked. You could hear a rustling sound as almost as one person everyone turned to look at me. Startled, I looked up from admiring my notebook and said 'Well yes Mr. Renoir, I do have a final question.' 'Please!' everyone said in unison 'please consider your words very carefully!' With great thought and carefully chosen words I said 'what . . . are . . . we . . . having . . . for . . . lunch?' And with that everyone stood and applauded . . .
