a pretty bow and a butterfly string?

These are two sketches that I did when I was practicing my 'dress gettin'.  I have also been practicing what I call 'the non-face' where you just use a few marks to indicate the face.  Dan McCaw is certainly one of the masters of the non-face.  I love this painting.

i happen to love the non face, because I am not good at them, I love your dresses, and your drawings, are they done in charcoal.

I love your charcoal sketches, the butterfly on the string is a powerful yet delicate image. It is very difficult to paint an effective faceless image but your choice of Dan McCaw is beautiful, thank you for introducing me to his work.
