in the manner of degas?

Here is another one of my previous sketches.  At this point I am practicing with charcoal pencils because I have great difficulty getting the really thin, soft vine charcoal that I like.  I think that I and the charcoal pencils will get along just fine.

A new neighbor stopped by yesterday and looked at some of my sketches.  'Oh!' 'In the manner of Degas!' she said.  (exclamation points mine).  I was going to ask her to leave - but when she said that - I prepared her some whitefish lightly breaded and pan fried in a little olive oil to a golden brown, fluffy rice and a garden salad.

'Now, tell me more about me!'  I said . . .
