This week I revisited my series of 'big heads'. Since I have not had the opportunity to paint lately - I remembered an artist who went over his graphite or charcoal drawing with a paint brush. It gives you that oh so sweet feeling of painting! What fun! Then you can go back in with the pencils and refine it! Yes Julie - you were right! Here is the Degas sketch that inspired my drawing below.

Do you use a wet or dry brush? I often use a wet brush, and go over my lines with it..I like the dark smear.

I have friends visiting and I showed them your blog and they particularly loved the small hand holding the cup. Me too but I also love the green dots!

What a fun big head...and really a good drawing. It has that feel of one of those political caricatures in The New Yorker.
Speaking of brushing over drawings...I love water soluble graphite...that's a fun pencil to brush over.
