blue dress in a blue room, Sharon Whitley and maps part 1. . .

First This is my first 'collage' interior.  I like the pieces that I added and - as far as interiors - I do plan to 'step it up' in the future.  Unfortunately I ruined her first dress and I had to search for the second 'perfect' dress which made me question my future as a 'dress collager'. . .
Sharon Whitley - doing what she do . . .
Then The very talented artist Sharon Whitley said that she would like to collage and incorporate maps into her pieces.   When you see this beautiful photo and her wonderful landscape pieces you can understand her interest.  Her idea of using maps opens up a whole new world.
 This is by Matthew Cusick.
This is a map collage by the artist Jamie Poole.
These are two map collages by the artist Mary Nasser.

From 'The Beautiful List'
You can use maps to collage people, places and things . . .
And just as I thought about never doing a collage dress again - I was softened by these handmade paper dresses.

oh wow this is great - thank you so much for posting this wonderful information - I'm truly inspired now to go ahead with experimenting with this - I love my maps which I take walking with me but some of them are getting quite tatty and I need new ones so my thoughts were to give them a new lease of life in my art! I can't wait to get experimenting!

You have it going on both the collage ballerinas AND the dresses! And OH! The interior is divine! Loving your linkies today. I have saved old maps from ages ago. Maybe it's time to put them to use.

Myra, you are just a wealth of information to me... I miss a couple days with you and suddenly I am behind!
I'll try to keep up!
Maps, and fans and hats and scrunchies and...
now I'm behind!
