platter or pancake and 'letters in the sun' by myra anderson . . .
Do you see what I mean about time? After all of these years of 'painting' the ballet I just learned (yesterday) that the flat tutus are called either platter or pancake tutus!!!!! Speaking of Degas is there a modern day aRtist who has painted something and you wish that you had painted that? Why do you painT? Do you love color? Or do you want someone to 'feel' something when they see your work?

J'adore !
Je te fais de gros bisous.
Ahh! Platter of pancakes. Yum! ;) Interesting word usage, and questions. You're making me think every time I come here. lol
I paint for purely selfish reasons. It's not about making someone feel something or color. It makes me feel good about myself. Two of my favorite quotes come to mind..
"I do this not for you. I do it so I can shut up the gnawing, dimwitted critics in my brain who tell me I am nothing."
Natalie Goldberg
and
"I was here. I was hungry. I was defeated. I was happy. I was sad. I was in love. I was afraid. I was hopeful. I had an idea and I had a good purpose and that’s why I made works of art."
Felix Gonzalez-Torres
Yes and both.
I really love the striped sock...why didn't I dance in striped socks back in my dancing days?
You're so colorful these days and your art is cheerful. :) xo
Love the colors and that light is perfect..AS ALWAYS....
I love your compositions. They're very good with positive and negative space. Amazing.
