Lisaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

In my last post I said that I wanted to draw 'that certain face'.  What do I mean by that?  Well I believe that every artist who does figurative work  has - for the most part - a way of drawing faces that identifies them when you see their art.  The drawings below are by artist Ryan Pickart.  His collection is beautiful, expansive and identifiable.  Since I draw faces 'in this particular way' (as seen above) I want to convey more 'life' in my certain faces.  This is the first drawing I did after I came to that determination.  I like it better than the last one - and I'm still working on 'my' faces!

Meanwhile, I have much respect for Lisa Graham.  As you can see, I thought I would try those triangles I told you about. IT WAS THE HARDEST THING I EVER TRIED TO DO!!!!!!  They left me cryin' like a baby and callin' for my mama!  Would you like to see what happened?

I love these paintings of women. I really like the sort of off kilter shapes of the hair and the patterns you have incorporated.

I love the big eyes on your woman's face and the way you used the ink wash. Your faces are wonderful. I want to see more of them.
